When it comes to electro dub and straight up dubstep, there’s not many other people I’d rather see live than Nero. In fact, Nero (live) was the first electronic (dubstep) show I ever went to. Let’s just say I was blown away. I walked into the House of Blues Orlando with a couple of buddies who had already been to some crazy shows, so they knew what to expect. Me on the other hand… I’m completely freaking out (in the best way possible). I had never heard such ridiculous bass, seen such a dope LED setup, or danced that hard in my life up to that point. Back again with some new names and dope talent. I’ve been on my email game this morning, which for me is an adventure because I NEVER check my mail. I can honestly say I’m glad I did though, or else I never would have come across this message from Pav Aragon, who calls himself CosmicDreams. I received an email from this dude a few days ago, showing me links and videos to his new work and new EP “Eyes Opened”. I can honestly say that I LOVE this new EP. It’s a lot different than the music I’ve been bumping lately. Seems like everything getting produced is too trappy for my taste, so this ambient, awesome electro EP was definitely a breath of fresh air. Marvel Years – Nowhere But Up EP

What’s going on world? Just this morning I received an email from Cory Wythe, a 19-year-old producer, sending me his EP titled “Nowhere But Up”. Cory may only be 19, but he is already throwing down some super original sounding beats. This whole EP consists of 5 songs, all of them falling in the electro genre. Cory, who calls himself “Marvel Years”, is super diverse. His tunes range from chill electro hip-hop beats to funky futuristic sounding tracks like number 4 on this EP, “Only If It’s Right”. If I had to pick and choose, I think I’d say the first track “The East” and “Only If It’s Right” are my two favorite tracks off the EP. If you love funky electro bass-lines accompanied by deep synths and just plain awesome dance music, then I promise you will love Durante. What’s blowing my mind is that this guy is out of Gainesville and I’ve never seen him live. I don’t know if he’s just now on-the-rise, but if you’re on Skrillex’s record label OWSLA, I have mad respect for you. Hands down my favorite artists from the electro/dubstep genre are on OWSLA’s label, so the fact that they’re promoting this dude and his new song “Challenger” is really sick. This track is super unique. It’s got an awesome electro vibe throughout the whole song and some awesome horn samples (trumpets) to get you off your feet and dancing. The homies from Adventure Club are at it again. Yesterday, Christian Srigley & Leighton James of Montreal released their newest mix to the world titled Superheroes Anonymous Vol. 1. This epic dubstep duo has been around for a minute now, I’d be astonished if you haven’t heard any of their tunes yet. In this new mix, the guys drop a solid amount of their Adventure Club remixes, a good amount of their original tracks, and a perfect blend of upbeat/trap style songs. I’ve always loved listening to and seeing these guys, their music is just awesome. It’s such a perfect blend of electro, just the right kind of dubstep, and straight up party music. I’m sure you guys will love this mix just as much as I did. Check it out.

It has been a while since I have heard any solid new tracks from the cat loving electro house champion of the west, Wolfgang Gartner. This song has the familiar Gartner synths with incredibly catchy lyrics by Medina on top. The track sounds a lot like his early originals and remixes, and reminds me of why I fell in love with his music so long ago. I’m not usually the biggest electro-house fan, I usually find the beats super repetitive and way too old-school. What up fellow bassheads? I’ve got a dope on-the-rise Dj blowing up my soundcloud named MUST DIE!. I just heard of him a couple of days ago because I stumbled upon a remix competition for the Zomboy song “Here To Stay”, and MUST DIE! was getting a ton of votes. After listening to all his tunes on soundcloud, I discovered one of my favorite new artists, no joke. This guy absolutely throws down. He’s got massive basslines and crazy breaks that are complimented by heavy, yet incredible dubstep. This is latest download as of now, but look out for his name/his remix of Zomboy’s “Here To Stay”.
