Recently I’ve been bumping a lot more hip hop and rap then my normal electro/dub tunes. I’ve really just gotten a headache the past few days listening to new “electronic” tracks that keep popping up on my soundcloud. I put electronic in quotes because I don’t really consider trap music electronic at all; besides some really well produced stuff I pretty much hate trap. Here’s an exception. Flosstradamus is a raw duo, and this track “Where That Dank?” is perfectly produced by Floss’s homie Zoolydamus. I got the chance to see Flosstradamus at Snowball Music Festival a couple of months ago and damn do those dudes know how to throw down a party. For those of you who love yourself some sick rap lyrics and dope dubstep, Haz and RHILLZ is right up your alley. I just discovered this duo a few weeks back when I heard the preview to their song “First Contact”. I have to say when I first heard the preview I was stoked on it. I usually go into moods of listening to a lot of Hip-Hop (mainly A$AP) and crazy electronic music, mainly dubstep. But this collab does something unique, they truly bring together rap music and futuristic beats of dubstep and create a dope, extremely original track. I’m mad impressed by the full song “First Contact”, that’s why I had to share it with you guys. It’s a great party song, yet it also packs a serious punch. You’ll see what I mean after you hear it. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve heard anything new AND dope from the legend, Mr. Solo Dolo. That being said, Cudi is back with a dope new track called “Girls”. In this track Cudi talks about his newly found freedom in being single, and all the ladies who throw themselves at him now. One of the better parts of this song is near the end when Too $hort jumps in and starts rhyming. I haven’t heard a bunch of other stuff from him, but he really did a good job collaborating on this track and I would expect to see these two working together again. Whether you are a fan of the Odd Future or not, there is no denying the loyal fan base they have created through brand association. With a successful clothing line, a gigantic internet presence, a TV show on adult swim and an increasing body of artistic work; the group has cemented itself into the entertainment industry. On April 1, the OF general debuted his third studio album, Wolf, and I must say it was better than I expected. What I respect about Tyler is that he wears many musical (green) hats. I haven’t really been feeling Wayne’s newest stuff. Ever since he made the awkward transition from rapper to skater punk his music has really suffered. That being said, I do really like this song and the remix breathes some new energy into the track. This remix features two big names in the EDM scene, as well as Far East Movement, who has been pretty dormant for the past few months. When I saw that Opiuo had done a remix to one of my favorite underground hip hop classics, Benzie Box, I immediately ran to my headphones. I highly recommend you do the same thing right now and stream/download via Soundcloud below… The talented Australian producer made some very groovy additions to a cult classic off the legendary duo DangerMouse and MF Doom’s 2005 collab album, Mouse and the Mask. This song takes me way back, and this MF Doom verse will never get old. Can you dig it?

I did the near impossible. I found a new song featuring Lil Wayne that doesn’t actually suck. Diplo produced this track and just released it this morning.
